This one hits home, though my “everybody” is me!

This is spot on. For those of us who wrestle with depression, getting away from toxic people is a must. As Paul Lamb notes, it’s hard enough when we have voices of criticism in our heads to begin with!
And man, there’s a whole world out there that tells all of us that we aren’t enough, in every possible way. The social mirror always distorts and a lot of people make themselves feel better by putting others (like you and me) down. I just can’t afford to be exposed to that shit.
I’m not saying it’s easy (especially if you’re related to, living with, married to, work with, etc., such people) but disengaging from critical people is necessary.
Great work, Clay. I love the Bauhaus poster! Your other work is fantastic, too. I’ve been a fan since the “S.L’s” days! Keep it up, we need it!

Many people find the easiest way to make themselves feel or appear better than others is to constantly put others down. It’s both petty and pitiful. It’s best to just ignore them.
FML says
I only know of one thing that I think I can do right, but so far I am too much of a coward to do it. One day…
Nix says
And when people don’t tell you to your face that what you’re doing is wrong, you think they secretly do. I don’t know what’s worse, knowing that people hate you, or leaving it all up to your mind.
