if you are sick of socializing, just quit it. all these services are here only to nourish being self centered and self worshiping. socializing is a poison. if you desire it , it will kill you.

Agree with the sentiment, but respectfully, maybe not the phrasing. Not everyone is as sociable as everyone else, and absolutely to each their own, but “Social Networking” is I think what you meant. Socializing is supposed to be just meeting *in person* casually (although I agree it _can_ be just as toxic as the online sewage we’re contronted with by FB et al.) Please accept my apologies if this comes across as pedantic asshole, that is not my intent. I think you phrasing carries a nugget of truth to it as well, which is why I wanted to tease the terms a
apart.
Marcel says
Ugh, I hate how glorified internet forums took the word “social” and turned it into its opposite.

Meta will extinguish the little voice in your head that tells you “you have to get better; you have to change your circumstances and survive”.
It’s the last nail. Most will not escape this level of escapism, as the gap between the mostly perfect virtual world and the mostly f*cked up acid trip-tier reality we live in will become too big.
Opus the Poet says
Aren’t all 3 of them Meta properties? Or maybe just Facebook and Instgram?
clay says
Yes all of them are Meta properties.
Opus the Poet says
Can I just say Facebook is a constant reminder of how little I’ve accomplished since the truck hit me compared to what I was trying to do?
Julia M. says
I believe Facebook changed their branding after all the bad press they god due to allowing misinformation and changing data.

Funny how the most popular hardware and software for the past couple of decades has been centred on people staying in contact with one another. It’s as though nearly everyone is afraid of being alone.

I only have Farcebook, and only because I’m in the watch hobby, and that’s where the old people in the watch hobby are. Social media ruins everything it touches.
