Dana W says
Looking at the future makes me glad I’m old and have no kids. Like George Carlin said.
“Have you thought about what this planet is going to be like in 40-50 years? It’s going to be a big smoking ball of shit. A big smoking, flaming ball of gaseous shit. That’s what’s going to happen.”
And there is nothing any of us who care can do but stand back and watch………..
jackmarten says
if earth doesn’t’ turn into a clone of Venus, a ball of magma weather, poisonous climate, and survival rate of 0%
and everyone is either buying the “nonexistent” tickets for “operation let’s destroy mars next” or is fighting each other to see who dies first from social politics…
the human race .. honestly deserves where it had reached! i am very glad that our future looks undead. weather turning into a closed oven, people getting cooked alive, more political madness, and banks gaining more and more money, people buying crypto, gold, silver, and everyone man for his own.. it’s in our blood to war, so .. the future is death. at least we will get our long awaited wish! the eternal rest! that can actually be named rest! humans ruined the world completely with greed, envy, gluttoney, wrath, sloth, lust for everything others have, and being prideful thinking they are self proclaimed gods of the world ..
you reap what you sow.
ashes are all what you’re left with when you sow in flames. and we tuned earth to flames.
Koz says
We are no doubt the most worthless species ever “evolved.” We deserve everything we’re getting.
Morriy says
You’re assuming that we will even have eternal rest. This is the 800 lb gorilla in the room that nobody wants to acknowledge. Nobody even knows precisely what happens when you’re dead. Sure, you won’t have your original body but it doesn’t guarantee that the forces of the universe won’t spit you back out into reality.
If we get what we deserve, then it means we were too scared to fight it and we’re just using depression as an excuse to our cowardice.
jackmarten says
must say Raven has a cute belly!
also she’s right! climate will keep going worse and worse, everyone who CAN do something about it is blaming everyone who CAN”T do anything about it, everyone is self centered, and honestly by now .. i WONDER if there WILL BE a future to begin with it.
the planet is going to hell inevitably, and all kinds of problems are making people go mad .. so whatever ..
at least the world is NOT TOO much strange compared to what we see in our own reality vision.. the world is dying, and so are we, but it’s dying in an exceedingly faster rate. and it’s taking us with it.. glad!
i think you for designing beautiful characters as always Clay!
Morriy says
Not all people are self-centered. We’re just frustrated with the lack of power that is supposed to be given to us by our elders who are refusing to give up their ways for the sake of preserving a status quo that doesn’t even work anymore! We KNOW the system isn’t working but the world isn’t ours to take yet.
Misabelle says
Thanks for this comic. Very relatable.
It really frustrates me that every year on the news they talk about “breaking news” of the latest IPCC report and the “call to action” as if the news is brand new. I’m 23 years old and have been hearing this same stuff for basically my entire life and still the “leaders” of the world haven’t done much besides talk about doing something while appeasing all the greedy corporations that are largely responsible for this mess.
I’m an organic farmer with a background in ecology and every day I see how much there is at stake and how climate change is making things harder every year. And though we are really running out of time there is still a lot we can do to prevent it from getting worse than it could, if only the people in power would take things seriously.
Koz says
Yep, and this is why I’m glad suicide has been the most reasonable option in my mind my whole life. Because eventually, soon?, I’ll just have to quit. Enough pain.
Morriy says
If you care about the world needing to be better, you don’t quit. Fight!
Standard Steve says
Earth was here before us and will be long here after us. Climate change happened a few times already without mankind’s help and will keep happening. No CO² sanctions are going to make any difference, it’s just a bullcrap narrative of the rich from developed countries to keep shackles on growing economy of developing countries that could otherwise endanger the establishment.
clay says
I guess some people find unfounded conspiracy theories comforting.
Someone from the net says
All climate changes on earth had a reason for it, mostly the natural cycles of solar activity; solar activity is in deacrease since early 2000s and would go lower untii 2050 and then again right up and keep going until 2150. We should be having colder weather but we are getting warmer instead, imagine from 2050 and on.
No rich person have ever tried to do anything about it. If it wasn’t for environmental laws, rich people and business will hoard coal and oil and any other cheap means of mass production, developing countries wouldn’t even have a chance in the first place.
Negating a problem don’t make it go away.
Agarax says
Its true that the Earth has undergone climate changes many times in its history. It’s usually accompanied by a mass extinction event followed by a few million years during which living things gradually adapt and evolve to be better suited to the new conditions. Life will continue just fine without us, and won’t miss us when were gone.
yay :) says
Welp, at least I can seek comfort knowing that I won’t miss out that much after I’m gone. Heck the peeps that passed on in the last decade didn’t miss out that much either.
