This is such a mood. Even when I smoke for sleep, it’s hard to actually get there

you ever tried to sleep by cold and migraine pills? and you end up being forced to close your eyes to stop the headache, and PRETEND to be asleep while you mind is STILL awake! … yeah it happens…

I get to where my body is actually asleep, like I’m starting to snore and unable to move without a lot of effort and everything. But my mind is still awake! Just turn off please!

Exactly. Having that problem now. And my dreams aren’t much better.
December 6, 2020 at 9:08 pm
Yeah, takes me a long time to get to sleep, then half the time my dreams either wake me up or they inspire a bad enough feeling that I dread going to bed the next night. The sad thing is, many of these dreams are bad dreams featuring my toxic ex.

I’m sorry, Anne. Insomnia stinks. and the worst part is that when you stay awake, you are more likely to sleep late and the cycle repeats. My dreams usually inspire a feeling of terror, or they are nightmarish scenarios.

This was literally me last night.

Me too. I slept an excellent six hours last night.

As I start awakening in the morning I’ll try my hardest to go back to sleep, to the point where even if I’ve been having a really shitty dream, I’ll try to get back into it.
December 7, 2020 at 6:32 am
almost reaching my 30s .. and i still don’t get how sleeping works ..
because 200% of the time it doesn’t! you work so very hard, and once your body is too weak to keep going, you DO NOT sleep
you simply pass out.

My biggest problem is getting my brain to shut down and let me sleep. It’s almost as if getting rid of most of my outside stimuli is like a signal for my brain to go into problem-solving mode, and if I don’t have any problems to solve it will make up some from projects I put aside for lack of budget or time to work on them.
December 7, 2020 at 8:59 am
Me too. My brain keeps going over everything I have to do, whether I will ever stop being depressed, what I should tell my psychiatrist, etc.

How do you submit a guest comic?

Sorry, that wasn’t supposed to be a reply.
December 7, 2020 at 10:52 pm
Then you think, “If I’m awake anyway I may as well do something useful.” But when you try, you find you’re way too tired to focus, so you can’t get anything done. And because you couldn’t sleep you’re still tired the next day. Always on the edge of sleep, but never getting any rest.

I need help.

Hi Julia, I know it’s a late reply, but I just wanted to say, “you have been heard.”
If you want to reply here and chat I’ll check back. Also there are open forums for us online. (For relevant reasons I sometimes jump in on ACOA meetings, but it’s not a strict requirement to be able to join)
Clay has listed a bunch of reasources on this site as well.
