John W. Houchins says
So much truth in this…
Marygail Lakner says
Oh, that’s so sweet and cute and just made me feel happy. Love it.
Tad Athearn says
People always ask me for somehing I have when there aren’t any more left.
Christina De Paula Barreto says
She didn’t share the cola so selfish
Doug Keipp says
I, too, am always in self-preservation mode. So I don’t want her Cola St*r. She back washes 😀
depression comix says
It’s hard to make out but on the can it says “Carbonated Sludge – 100% Chemical”
Aleksandra says
Well, she *did* interrupt the movie just to talk about herself, haha
jackmarten says
wait if i’m not mistaken that is Robin! the ponytail girl! did her scars heal at last? well at least she’s enjoying something with someone.
she and her lover the freckles girl are the best couple of the entire comic series so far.
but yup she’s correct i always feel i’m being selfish when i do anything for myself as if doing stuff for your own benefit should never be a priority.
but when it’s about the OTHERS they must ALWAYS be the priority in everyone’s eyes! isn’t that a type of hypocrisy?
clay says
Her scars haven’t healed, it’s just that the resolution of the strip make them hard to see. They’re more obvious on the thumbnail on the front page.
jackmarten says
you gave names for all the characters? this is a first! so Robin and Wren , and this girl is Hong Yen nice to meet them all!
jackmarten says
okay a correction only some of the characters got official names not all of them, still it’s a start!
Cara says
It has occurred to me in the depths of my depression that people with narcissism and people with depression are oddly similar. Both are self absorbed, in a way; they can’t stop thinking about themselves. But narcissistic people are obsessed with self love while depressed people are lost in self hate.
When I felt suicidal, all I could think was that suicide is the ultimate act of selfishness. You’re doing something to yourself, for yourself, at the cost of everyone else’s happiness and emotionally scarring those that love you, and having the audacity to want it anyway. These thoughts just fed into the self hate.
AJ Fawxe says
What is this cola? That is clearly a can of pop.
Also this is so amazing and sweet.
Emily Hansen says
I relate to this so much.
Casey says
Yes – your friends know you’re doing your best…. the ones that complain or dig at you are not your friends.
“Those who matter don’t mind…. those who mind don’t matter”
Agarax says
When someone has the flu no one complains that they’re withdrawn and inwardly focused, trying to heal themselves. Depression is a more serious condition that lasts far longer and is much more difficult to deal with. It’s no wonder people focus on it. That’s not selfishness. It’s a survival mechanism.
Sovereign (@sovereignhope) says
“I want a cola.” / “Sorry, last one.”
Humorous punchlines in this comic are a rare and beautiful treat, though I can’t help but feel that she’s actually going to feel bad about taking the last cola.
