I like the way you have the people in the background come into focus to react and then go back to their socializing. Everyone seems to have their own worlds to worry about.

It’s kind of a shared moment of embarrassment. Although people are initially surprised by the vocal tic, I’d like to think people can adjust and move on. That’s probably not reality however.

I have a very good friend and she changed her behaviour, when I told her that I was suicidal in the past. And she starts treating me differently like a weak person and asks me if I am okay more often. It is other small things as well; she presumes that I always have this negative undertone to many topics. Ok, maybe I had a few times, but it is just because we are like that and stop noticing it…
I know she means it well, but I think most of us just want to be understood. We want to be able to open up, but still want to be treated as normal friends; not like broken people; not like something that needs to be fixed.
This can hurt sometimes a lot. Why is it so hard to be able to express ourselves without putting up the wall of fake treatment?
Why cannot just people try to simply understand? Why? Why? Without judging. Without ignoring. Without being overly compassionate. Why cannot we simply see each other as beings?
I know it is just a stupid rant, but this itself can get me depressed a lot; not being able to connect to this world. And that is what other people see as weird. It is like a circle which you cannot go out of.

Comic made me interested in reading more about Tourette Syndrome. Didn’t know it could be expressed in so many ways.

Also didn’t know Samuel Johnson had it and depression.

I’ve read that the comic made a few people look up Tourette Syndrome and for that it has made me incredibly happy. It’s not well understood but any amount of awareness helps.

That pervasive thought process that doesnt go away.

Now there is a sliver of hope that can happen here.

It’s not so bad/hard when you can find people who can relate and you can both work together on a friendship/relationship. That, unfortunately, doesn’t happen too often, even with so many in the world with similar problems. It’s nice that the hope is there, though.
I get that feel, though. I often feel it’s better and easier to just be alone.
