I hadn’t seen that comic before, thanks for showing me. Myself, I don’t really see the point in making a complicated and unnecessary lie, I much prefer to avoid the topic.

Sometimes I use these types of answers to see if anyone really cares enough to see through them. Not a lot of people do.

The best thing about getting married was my wife making sure I didn’t spend anymore weekends that way. It wasn’t always pleasant, but it did help.

I have the opposite issue – sometimes I just want to sit/lie down and do nothing. Try to calm the nerves and just feel the moment without the pressure. But I can’t, because there’s always wife and kids and stuff to be taken care of for the house. Sometimes I make excuses and just go down the block to throw some trash in the dumpster.. then I just sit there for a while and let the tension uncoil and the thoughts settle.

Often talking about my condition amounts to them completely misunderstanding me.
Imagine someone telling someone else with a broken leg to just “walk it off,” and there you have everyone’s advice for me.

Well, exactly. Lately, I’m doing “nothing” all the time.

It’s exactly what I say when asked this question.
For some reason, “doing nothing” feels like rather exhausting work, just completely unproductive …

My question is, why is nothing not an acceptable answer to that question? Whenever its asked of me I always assume people are expecting some sexy exciting answer, that I actually did something interesting. So when I haven’t done anything interesting I just say nothing.
I had a manager at one of my previous jobs get angry at me and say “So what you didn’t move or breathe?” and when I said that they were being silly they went all “So you did something! What did you do?” and basically told me that if they asked what I did on whatever day, I HAD to tell them everything I did.
Why do people feel entitled to know exactly what other people do with their lives?
