Your use of symbolism here is top notch
Very true and very sad – it is all about perspective. Great representation!
So the dude should climb down and take his friend by the hand and lead him up the ladder…but that never happens, because no one ever wants to go into a black hole….
But then neither would be able to see. U gotta shine a mega beam down that hole. Or just let the person grope around till they find the ladder
There comes a point where you complicate a metaphor so much that people forget it’s a metaphor and not a real dude in a hole.
Actually there is sound, which can change everything. A voice calls out in the wilderness: “Here I am! Come take my hand.”
We too can call out to our friends….we can also bump around in the dark until we run into them!
Why does the guy take the ladder away?

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate what you’re doing here. Not just this comic but all of them. My husband is trying so hard to understand what I’m going through and help me, but your comments have helped him more than anything else. Thank you so much for everything you do here.
So True
Or as somebody posted elsewhere, the solution to non-neurotypicality always seems to boil down to this:
1. Drink some water
2. Be neurotypical
3. All fixed!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Well done. Thank you for using your gift as an artist to help others understand depression better.
I drew a comic a long while ago abut someone in a hole. You are so right on about this. I was told the other day that I think small. don’t people understand that sometimes it’s a miracle I (we) can think at all?
