Oh yes, “Who has the biggest Misery Dick!” Ghods I hate that crap. Its almost as bad as the tranny game “Who has the biggest no penis” :/

Was it not possible to not be hateful? Wow.
clay says
It’s not a hateful comment, it’s frustration. Dana is sharing a frustrating moment about things that go on in the trans community, a community Dana is a member of.

It is so easy to fall into this trap. So much so that the support group I attend states as one of their principles, “We won’t judge anyone’s pain as less than our own.” In a way, this is not much different than Robin and her mother in #122. Just 2 different ways of telling someone that their feelings and mental state are not important.

It seems like this way sometimes. Some of the most affected people have never gotten help.
Mikael Dahlqvist says
It’s the fight of the century, it’s the “Whom will society help this time!” fight!.

Hey that’s fighting dirty! Round two? Yep. That would be hard to fight.

I’m reminded of that one thing about the competition where the winner is the person who couldn’t/didn’t turn even up.

May I point out a typo?
insitutionalized => institutionalized (at least that’s what google tells me when I try to find out what that word means (not a native English speaker, here))

There are several strips with spelling and grammar mistakes but the problem is that these comics are done on paper and not in a program; that makes it difficult to make fixes. So minor errors I ignore, it happens.
But I have never dated dead people. It’s really hard to find a restaurant to take them to that serves brains.

A few months ago someone noted that the site design looked really old, and since I hadn’t updated it since 2004 I guess whoever said that had a point. Hopefully now it’s easier on the eyes for those who want to see, and also it’s easier for me to maintain.
The 27 on the subscriber list is the number of people who have put their e-mail address on the mailing list for updates. This number isn’t handled by me, but by the site itself as it counts registrations. This number started when I put up the site on the sexylosers domain last month.
If you’re interested in learning more about sexy losers, there’s a post at http://blog.claycomix.com/posts/on-the-great-mistake-that-was-sexy-losers/ which details the problems I had with it and why I had to abandon it.

Maybe we should make this a co-operative game instead. We could call it “Shadows Over Me a Lot”. Only let’s leave out the traitor.

Interesting, and very good cartoon. I feel that it’s relevant, as people do seem to think along the lines of “It’s me, it’s me, no-one could have it worse than me.” Sort of thing. There IS such a think as misery bragging- and it’s not just depression. For example, for humour check out the “Four Yorkshiremen” of Monty Python.
Is the “pink shorts” girl a “baddie” though? She seems to have been cast as such. Perhaps she genuinly feels that way, which could well be how her depression affects there.
People don’t like it when people talk about themseleves- “I’m so happy” “I’m so sad” etc. I think thats partly the point- we play to “win” with our feelings. Interesting article.

I’m on 8 different meds, but that makes me feel more like a loser than a winner.
