I used to feel like the last panel. Even 20 years after recovery, I can’t feel joy, enthusiasm, or love. I have empathy, I care about people, and I can experience pleasure, satisfaction, and contentment, but strong positive emotions just don’t seem to work anymore. I have a vague memory of what they were like, and sometimes I miss them.
